How does our AI work?

Our aim is to answer any questions you may have about what’s happening in the Aix-Marseille region.

To achieve this, we have set up a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) system, tailor-made for our customers.

  • generative means that the answers are written by the AI for each request (it’s not a bot with pre-defined answers)
  • the majority of information is found on the Internet (the quantity of information is therefore immense, but its accuracy cannot be guaranteed)
  • our AI is also nourished by documents and studies
  • a special focus on sources from our region
artificial intelligence is in training: it’s constantly improving as your discussion progresses!

Session 7: Cinema and audiovisual, a booming industry.

Session 7: Cinema and audiovisual, a booming industry.

A booming creative ecosystem

With its emblematic Mediterranean landscapes, unique architectural heritage and 300 days of sunshine a year, the region offers exceptional filming conditions, attracting French and international productions alike. France's second-largest filming destination, after Paris: by 2023, 430 productions will have shot for 2,180 days, including national and international feature films. Each major shoot injects several hundred thousand euros into the local economy. Find out more about the presentation and key figures.

A structured professional organization

Technical excellence at the service of creativity

  • Rental of camera and sound equipment (4K cameras, drones, steadicam)
  • Post-production services (editing, calibration, sound mixing)
  • Special effects and 3D animation
  • Set management and shooting logistics

A skilled, versatile workforce

The region trains and attracts professionals in all trades: directors, cinematographers, sound engineers, editors, scriptwriters, production assistants, location managers, costume designers and make-up artists. This diversity means that complete teams can be assembled locally, reducing costs and facilitating the organization of shoots.

A high-performance support ecosystem

The region benefits from a favorable institutional network with :
  • Support from the Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur via its film assistance fund
  • Support from local authorities, such as the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis (administrative facilitation, provision of premises)
  • The presence of specialized training organizations (film schools, technical training)
  • Facilitating professional networks and industry events

Looking to the future: innovation and sustainable development

The Aix-Marseille-Provence film industry is firmly committed to the digital and environmental transition. Companies are investing in new technologies (virtual reality, artificial intelligence) while developing eco-responsible practices: reducing the carbon footprint of film shoots, short supply chains, optimized waste management. Provence Studios, managed by Olivier Marchetti, is committed every day to "produce differently - Provence Studios was awarded the "Lieu Totem One Provence" label at the Academy, and you can watch the video recap of the session.
